Global Entry, a\u00a0<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">CBP\u00a0<\/span>Trusted Traveler Program, allows for expedited clearance of pre-approved, low-risk travelers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 12px; color: #000000; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'DejaVu Serif', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17.36px;\"><span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">CBP<\/span>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #c00000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/national-media-release\/2016-07-27-000000\/cbp-announces-expansion-global-entry-colombian\" target=\"_blank\">says<\/a>\u00a0that Colombian citizens can begin applying for Global Entry through the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #c00000;\" title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov\/main\/goes\" target=\"_blank\">Global Online Enrollment System (<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">GOES<\/span>)<\/a>\u00a0Web site. Colombia becomes the first country in South America and the eighth country overall whose citizens will be eligible to enroll in Global\u00a0Entry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 12px; color: #000000; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'DejaVu Serif', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17.36px;\">\u201c<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">CBP<\/span>\u00a0is excited to expand our partnership with Colombia by offering our flagship Trusted Traveler Program to Colombian citizens,\u201d said Commissioner R. Gil Kerlikowske. \u201cWe\u2019re confident that together,\u00a0<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">CBP<\/span>\u00a0and Colombia can enhance security and facilitate travel between our two countries and together transform the international arrivals process to make it more secure, efficient, and\u00a0welcoming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 12px; color: #000000; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'DejaVu Serif', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17.36px;\">Currently available at forty-nine\u00a0<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">U.S.<\/span>\u00a0airports and thirteen pre-clearance locations,\u00a0<a style=\"color: #c00000;\" title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/global-entry\/about\" target=\"_blank\">Global Entry<\/a>\u00a0streamlines the international arrivals process at airports for trusted travelers. Global Entry members bypass the traditional<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">CBP<\/span>\u00a0inspection lines and use an automated kiosk to complete their admission to the United States. The program has enrolled more than 3.1 million members, and\u00a0<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">CBP<\/span>\u00a0receives approximately 100,000 new applications for Global Entry each month. As an added benefit, Global Entry members are also eligible to participate in the\u00a0<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">TSA<\/span>\u00a0Pre\u2713expedited screening\u00a0program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 12px; color: #000000; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'DejaVu Serif', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17.36px;\"><span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">U.S.<\/span>\u00a0citizens, U.S nationals, and\u00a0<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">U.S.<\/span>\u00a0Lawful Permanent Residents may apply for Global Entry as well as citizens of\u00a0<a style=\"color: #c00000;\" title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/global-entry\/other-programs\" target=\"_blank\">certain countries<\/a>\u00a0with which<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">CBP<\/span>\u00a0has trusted traveler arrangements, including Mexico, the Netherlands, Panama, the Republic of Korea, Germany, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and now Colombia. Canadian citizens and residents enrolled in\u00a0<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">NEXUS<\/span>\u00a0may also use the Global Entry\u00a0kiosks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 12px; color: #000000; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'DejaVu Serif', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17.36px;\">The non-refundable application fee for a five-year Global Entry membership is $100 and applications must be submitted online. Once the application is approved, a\u00a0<span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">CBP<\/span>\u00a0officer will conduct a scheduled interview with the applicant and then make a final eligibility\u00a0determination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 12px; color: #000000; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'DejaVu Serif', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17.36px;\">While the goal of Global Entry is to speed travelers through the process, members may be selected for further examination when entering the United States. Any violation of the program\u2019s terms and conditions will result in appropriate enforcement action and revocation of the traveler\u2019s membership\u00a0privileges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 12px; color: #000000; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'DejaVu Serif', serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17.36px;\"><span class=\"caps\" style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\">CBP<\/span>\u00a0says that it continues to maximize its resources to support a 16 percent growth in international air arrivals since 2009.
